Frequently Asked Questions

I didn’t get my verification code when signing up

This usually happens if there’s a delay with your email provider or if the code went to your spam/junk folder.

Solution:

Check your spam/junk folder for the verification email.Make sure you entered the correct email address.If you still don’t see it, request a new code or try using “Continue with Google/Apple” instead.

I can’t log into my account

If the “Log In” button isn’t working or your credentials aren’t being accepted, this can be due to either an incorrect password or network-related issues.

Solution:

Double-check your email and password.Try switching to mobile data or a stronger Wi-Fi connection.If you forgot your password, use the “Forgot Password” option to reset it.

After matching with someone, what should I do next?

When you choose a study buddy on the spin wheel, a match request is sent to them.

Solution:

Wait for the other person to accept your request.If they accept, you’ll be connected instantly and can start chatting or begin a Pomodoro session.If they decline or don’t respond, you can spin again to find another match.

I spun the wheel but no study buddies appeared

If you see blurred “Empty Slot” placeholders, it means fewer than 6 users were available at that moment

Solution:

Don’t worry — just spin again later.BuddySync refreshes the wheel regularly as more learners join.You’ll only ever be matched with real users.

My Pomodoro timer isn’t syncing with my study buddy

This issue sometimes occurs if one user’s internet connection is unstable.

Solution:

Both users should check their internet connection.End the current session and start a new Pomodoro session from the chat.If the issue continues, report it via the Support tab in the app.

I see a blank screen when opening BuddySync

This typically happens when the app fails to load due to poor internet connectivity.

Solution:

Close the app completely and reopen it.Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data.If the issue persists, update to the latest version of BuddySync.

How do I delete my account?

If you’d like to delete your BuddySync account and data:

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.Confirm with your registered email.Your account and all data will be permanently removed.

Is BuddySync free to use?

Yes. The MVP version of BuddySync is completely free. We plan to introduce a premium version in the future with advanced features, but basic matching and Pomodoro mode will remain free.
