Personal Data

• Name
• Email Address (via signup or Google/Apple Sign-In)
• Message exchanged with users
• Profile Information (avatar, study preferences, location, course tags)
• Usage Data
• Device info (model, OS version, IP address)
• Usage logs, error reports
• Analytics
• Non-identifying usage metrics to improve performance and features

Why we collect these: To match users, enable Pomodoro sessions and messaging, maintain app performance, and ensure platform stability and security.

We do not sell or share your personal data. We may disclose it to:

• Service providers (e.g., Firebase, analytics tools)

All service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.

BuddySync uses Google Sign-In (and obtains your email and profile info) in accordance with Google's API Services User Data Policy. We include this clause as required:

BuddySync’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In compliance with Google and Apple policies, we declare:

• Personal Data (Name, Email, Location, Profile)
• Messages (User-generated)
• Device Info (OS version, IP)
• Analytics data

These are used solely for app functionality, security, and improvement.

BuddySync does not track users across apps and websites owned by other companies, and we do not use your data for targeted advertising or profiling. We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing purposes.

BuddySync only collects information necessary to operate core features of the app (such as matching, messaging, and Pomodoro sessions). Any data shared with service providers (such as hosting, analytics, or email services) is used solely to provide and improve our services, and these providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements.

BuddySync is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Any accounts discovered under this age will be deleted.

We retain your data as long as your account is active. You can delete your account anytime. After deletion, personal data is permanently removed within 30 days unless legally required. We use industry-standard security, such as encrypted storage and secure network connections.

You may:

• Request access to the data we hold
• Update or correct your information
• Delete your account/data
• Revoke consent for Google access
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on it

We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be announced in-app or emailed, with at least 30 days’ notice. Continued use following changes means you accept them.
